USAID Representative Visits the Kyrgyz Republic to Advance Bilateral Cooperation Agreement

April 22 (Bishkek) – On April 22-23, Resident Legal Officer for USAID Central Asia James Kelleher visited the Kyrgyz Republic to advance efforts to conclude a new Bilateral Cooperation Agreement.  Accompanied by USAID Mission Director Gary Linden and U.S. Embassy Political/Economic Counselor Thomas Selinger, Kelleher discussed the major goals of the agreement with a delegation representing numerous ministries of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Kelleher’s visit is the latest step on the path to realizing the stated goal of President Jeenbekov and President Trump to conclude a mutually-agreeable Bilateral Cooperation Agreement.  It builds on a series of U.S. official visits aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and identifying opportunities to expand cooperation between the United States and the Kyrgyz Republic.
