November 6, 2021 – Bishkek – The Consular section at the U.S. Embassy will open interview appointments for all visa services starting on December 1, 2021.  To ensure the health and safety of applicants and staff, limited admission, strict social distancing, and masking protocols will remain in effect for all visitors to the Embassy.

“The heart of the relationship between the Kyrgyz Republic and the United States comes from our people-to-people ties.  We are very pleased to be able to offer routine visa services, including for tourism and business purposes.  The resumption of these services will help to better support our close friendship, and comes at an opportune time, as we celebrate 30 years of partnership in December,” remarked U.S. Embassy Bishkek Chargé d’Affaires Sonata Coulter.

Interested visa applicants can review application requirements and other information on our webpage and schedule appointments here.  Please note that effective Monday, November 8, travel requirements to enter the United States are changing.  Foreign travelers will be required to demonstrate proof of vaccination against COVID with a vaccine approved or authorized by the FDA, or a vaccine with an Emergency Use Listing from the World Health Organization.  Up-to-date information on current requirements may be found on the CDC’s COVID-19 website.

The U.S. Embassy suspended routine visa interviews in March 2020 due to State Department guidelines at the onset of COVID-19.  Current State Department guidelines allow the U.S. Embassy to resume visa interviews while adhering to strict COVID-19 precautions.
