The U.S. Embassy is pleased to announce the opening of the 2016 I Love English Video Contest. So many talented people submitted such creative videos for the 2015 contest. We cannot wait to see all your fresh, new ideas this year!
Eligible individuals may enter the contest by creating and submitting a video with the words “I love English” either spoken or communicated in some other way (e.g. written, visual, etc.). Videos may be up to 30 seconds in length, and entered in one of three categories:
- Funny
- Romantic
- Original
Contest Period: The contest entry period begins on December 25, 2015 at 08:00 a.m. Bishkek time and ends at 9:00 a.m. on February 05, 2016. Winners will be announced on the U.S. Embassy Facebook page onFebruary 12, 2016.
How to Enter: To participate in the contest, visit the contest page on Facebook and upload your video.
Along with the video, you will be required to submit your name, select a category for your entry (Funny, Romantic, or Original), and write a short description of your video (50 character limit).
Participants must also submit their full name, a valid phone number, and a valid email address to BishkekPAS@state.gov and anna_fatneva@hotmail.com. By submitting this information, the participant agrees to the official contest rules, terms, and conditions.
Technical Details: Videos cannot exceed 30 seconds in length. Video resolution must be 480p or higher. You may submit more than one entry; however, each entry must be unique. Entries must be received by 9:00 a.m. on February 05, 2015. Once the entry is uploaded, it may not be modified or edited.
Intellectual Property: By submitting an entry to the contest, entrants affirm that their entries are their original work, and where necessary, that they have acquired permission for reuse of others’ work.
Criteria: A panel of judges comprised of Kyrgyz and American media professionals will review and judge submissions according to the following criteria:
- Creativity
- Quality
- Overall Appeal
The panel will select winners according to the three categories. The entry that receives the most likes, views, shares, and comments on Facebook page will win the Grand Prize.

- 3rd Place: lunch/breakfast at Sierra Coffee
Finalists must be able to attend the awards event in Bishkek on February 12, 2015 in order to receive a Category Prize or the Grand Prize. In addition to the prizes, all winners will receive a certificate at the awards ceremony.
Notification of Winners: Winners will be notified by e-mail or telephone. If a winner does not acknowledge acceptance of the prize within two business days of notification, another winner will be chosen using the same procedure specified above.
Eligibility: The I Love English Video Contest 2016 is only open to individuals who currently live in the Kyrgyz Republic. U.S. Embassy employees and their immediate family members (spouse, parents, children, siblings, and their spouses or children). If a winner is found to be ineligible or not in compliance with the official rules, the prize may be forfeited and an alternate winner selected.
Any participant suspected of using proxy software or any other means of artificially altering voting results will be disqualified. Persons engaging in abusive behavior towards other participants or contest staff will also be disqualified.
