Kyrgyz Citizens to Receive Five-year Multiple Entry Visas

The U.S. Embassy is pleased to announce that the United States and Kyrgyzstan will begin issuing five-year, multiple entry visas to each other’s citizens on April 28, 2015. We thank our colleagues in the Government of Kyrgyzstan for their cooperation to make expanded visa reciprocity a reality.

By extending visa validity from 12 months to 60 months for short-term tourists and business travelers, we will enhance mutual understanding between our countries. Both our economies will benefit from increasing tourism and business travel. This new arrangement will be more convenient and less costly for travelers, who will no longer need to renew their visas so frequently.

An effective visa process that facilitates legitimate travel while safeguarding our borders is a critical priority for the United States. We value the partnership of Kyrgyzstan in moving toward that goal.

This arrangement underscores U.S. commitment to promoting tourism and trade and increasing opportunities for people-to-people engagement. There is no substitute for personal connections in fostering understanding, innovation, and friendship. This arrangement will help support Kyrgyzstan’s economy and democracy, and further solidify the important partnership between the United States and Kyrgyzstan. We look forward to continued partnership with Kyrgyzstan in facilitating travel between our countries.
