DAS Daniel Rosenblum Visits the Kyrgyz Republic

Deputy Assistant Secretary for Central Asia Daniel Rosenblum visited the Kyrgyz Republic October 14-18, 2014 to discuss a range of bilateral issues with senior Kyrgyz government officials and civil society leaders, and to participate in a USAID project closing ceremony.  In addition to Bishkek, he traveled to Osh and Jalalabad to meet with local government officials, community activists, and students.

The purpose of the visit was to gain a better understanding of the needs and goals of the Kyrgyz Republic, and to discuss areas of mutual interest for future cooperation.  The government and people of the Kyrgyz Republic have taken many important steps towards building an open and secure democratic nation.  Mr. Rosenblum appreciated the opportunity to explore ways the United States and the Kyrgyz Republic could continue our strong bilateral cooperation to provide opportunities for the Kyrgyz people and stability for the region.
