Today, I presented my credentials as Ambassador of the United States of America to the Kyrgyz Republic. I am grateful to President Obama and Secretary Kerry for entrusting me with this important duty. I am also grateful to President Atambaev for granting agrément and receiving me today to fulfill the last step of my appointment.
It is an honor to be the ninth representative of the President of the United States to the Kyrgyz Republic, a country I know and respect for its rich culture, natural beauty, and warm and hospitable people. I look forward to the years ahead of me here, as we seek to strengthen our ties on a foundation of shared interests, and shared respect.
The United States is grateful for the partnership of the people of the Kyrgyz Republic. As Ambassador, it will be my privilege to work with the government and people of the Kyrgyz Republic on a broad range of issues. We have so much in common, and so many opportunities before us to grow in ways that will benefit both of our nations.
I am confident that expanding the exchange of ideas, experience, and culture between our countries will show us the way to a bright and prosperous future together.
